Favorite authors/books: "Madeleine L’Engle; The Egypt Game, by Zilpha Keatley Snyder; the May Bird books, by Jodi Lynn Anderson, which I discovered only recently—they have a wonderful, ensemble, Wizard of Oz feel; The Witches, by Roald Dahl—I loved that the witches had blue spit; Swallows and Amazons, by Arthur Ransome; Charlotte’s Web, by E.B. White; Anne of Green Gables, by Lucy Maud Montgomery. Adult fiction: Alice Munro; Steven Millhauser; A High Wind in Jamaica, by Richard Hughes. Recently I’ve also been reading a lot of popular science books."
