The year is 2010 and life as we know it has come to an end. A huge comet has smashed into the earth off the coast of California. Vaporizing, it generates a fiery rain that engulfs the globe in a holocaust. The tiny region of KwaZulu Natal on the southern coast of Africa, on the opposite side of earth from the comet, is spared from total destruction. Several hundred engineers attending a seminar aboard a cruise ship---now stranded along the South African coast---must face the task of starting over. Though spared from total destruction, the inhabitants of KwaZulu Natal have been cast back, physically, to the Stone Age. So begins an epic adventure of rebuilding the world from scratch, but in an unpredictable, and sometimes hostile, environment survival in itself is trying.

The Aftermath is a provocative adventure story that provides a scientifically sound blueprint for surviving Armageddon.
