Press lightly on WS following instructions on yarn label.

Sew shoulder seams.

Armhole Borders (Both alike)

With RS facing and using 3 1/4mm (US size 3) needles, pick up and knit 118 (122: 122: 126: 126: 130) sts evenly all round armhole edge.

Row 1 (WS) P2, *K2, *P2; rep from * to end.

Row 2 K2, *P2, K2; rep from * to end.

These 2 rows form rib.

Work in rib for 9 rows more, ending with RS facing for next row.

Cast off in rib.

Sew side and Armhole Border seams.

Hem Border

With RS facing and using 3 1/4mm (US size 3) needles, starting and ending at base of straight front opening row-end edges, pick up and knit 35 (38: 41: 44: 47: 50) sts along shaped cast-on edge of left front, 128 (134: 140: 146: 152: 158) sts along shaped cast-on edge of back, then 35 (38: 41: 44: 47: 50) sts along shaped cast-on edge of right front. 198 (210: 222: 234: 246: 258) sts.

Starting with row 1, work in rib as given for Armhole Borders for 43 rows, ending with RS facing for next row.

Cast off in rib.

Front Border

With RS facing and using 3 1/4mm (US size 3) circular needle, starting and ending at cast-off edge of Hem Border, pick up and knit 176 (182: 186: 191: 195: 199) sts up entire right front opening edge, 18 sts down right side of back neck, 46 (46: 46: 48: 48: 48) sts from back, 18 sts up left side of back neck, then 176 (182: 186: 191: 195: 199) sts down entire left front opening edge. 434 (446: 454: 466: 474: 482) sts.

Starting with row 1, work in rib as given for Armhole Borders for 43 rows, ending with RS facing for next row.

Cast off in rib.

Fasten fronts with decorative kilt pin if desired.
