Ali Fisher

Ali Fisher is the associate director of Digital Media Research at InterMedia and an independent public diplomacy strategist and researcher. He specializes in providing insight to enhance organizational strategy and evaluation through network analysis. He regularly advises governments, charities, companies, and NGOs on best practices for online engagement, collaboration, and network building. Fisher edited Trials of Engagement: The Future of US Public Diplomacy (2010) with Scott Lucas and wrote a chapter on the use of social media following the Iranian election in Yahya R. Kamalipour's Media, Power, and Politics in the Digital Age: The 2009 Presidential Election Uprising in Iran (2010). Earlier in 2010 Fisher wrote "Mapping the Great Beyond," identifying meaningful networks in public diplomacy, as part of the USC Center on Public Diplomacy's Perspectives series. He is an honorary research fellow in the School of Clinical and Experimental Medicine at the University of Birmingham, where he completed his PhD in the Department of American Studies.
