Arun Chaudhary served as the first official White House videographer from 2009 to 2011 and was also a key member of Obama's new media team during the 2008 campaign. He previously worked in film in New York and was a member of the NYU Graduate Film Department faculty. He received his MFA in filmmaking from NYU and his BA in film theory from Cornell University. Chaudhary has been profiled by The New York Times, the BBC, National Journal, Politico, Fortune, and many political websites. He lives in Washington, D.C., with his wife and son.

Where are you from?
Originally from Westchester, New York.

Who are your favorite writers? 
Joseph Heller, Robert Caro, Elias Canetti, JD Salinger.

Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail by Hunter Thompson
Crowds and Power by Elias Canetti

What are your hobbies and outside interests?
I'm lucky enough to be gainfully employed working in all my areas of interest -- so lucky.

What is the single best piece of advice anyone ever gave you?
"If you ain't doing it, it ain't getting done"

What is your favorite quote?
"Don't be so humble, you're not that great" – Golda Mier

What is the question most commonly asked by your readers?  What is the answer?
"Where were you when Osama Bin Laden was killed?" The answer is at home, in my pajamas, totally unaware.

What inspired you to write your first book?
I am by nature an examiner, it just took me this long to do anything worth examining. Where do you write?
My wife is a writer so she has our house claimed as her office (and rightly so) I work anywhere and everywhere else. Friend's offices, Universities, Libraries, even a DIY Warehouse, -- any place with a desk and decent broadband.
