Eduardo Lora

Eduardo Lora served as Chief Economist and Manager of the IDB’s Research Department from 2008 to 2012 and as Senior Economist and Principal Advisor from 1996 to 2008. Prior to joining the IDB he was executive director of Fedesarrollo, the leading economic think-tank in Colombia. He is also editor of Vox.Lacea, an elected memgber of the executive board of Lacea, and a regular columnist for Dinero magazine in Colombia. Mr. Lora has been the main author or editor of over 30 books, 5 textbooks and 5 issues of the flagship publication of the IDB. He has also written more than 20 chapters in other edited volumes, and nearly 70  academic articles, including 18 papers in refereed journals.   A native Colombian, Mr. Lora holds an undergraduate degree in Economics from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia and a Master of Science degree in Economics from the London School of Economics.
