Elise G. Young

Elise G. Young is Professor in the History Department at Westfield State College, Massachusetts. A Middle East historian, who has conducted research in Palestine, Israel, and Jordan, she has written extensively on women and modern nation state building in these regions, and is the author of Keepers of the History: Women and the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict (1992). She is the founder and director of The Global Women's History Project and of Africa Alive, a community-based African Studies program linking public and private education, both based at Westfield State College.
