J. Harvey Lomax

Professor Lomax’s teaching and research interests concern the moral and intellectual foundations of political life, and include both ancient and modern political philosophy.  He has published three books, including one single-authored volume and two translations: The Paradox of Philosophic Education.  Nietzsche’s New Nobility and the Eternal Recurrence in Beyond Good and Evil; Nietzsche’s Philosophy of the Eternal Recurrence of the Same; translation of Karl Loewith, Nietzsches Philosophie der ewigen Wiederkehr des Gleichen, with Translator’s Introduction and extensive Translator’s Notes); and Carl Schmitt and Leo Strauss.  The Hidden Dialogue (translation of Heinrich Meier, Carl Schmitt, Leo Strauss, und der Begriff des Politischen.  Dialog unter Abwesenden, with Translator’s Notes).  He has also published articles and reviews in professional journals, such as Interpretation: An International Journal of Political Philosophy and the Social Science Quarterly.   Professor Lomax has receiv
