José A. Alemán

Jose Aleman is Assistant Professor of Political Science at Fordham University in New York City. He has degrees from Cornell University (B.A.) and Princeton University (M.A., Ph.D.) and teaches courses in Comparative Politics and Political Economy. His work focuses on the comparative study of democratic institutions with a particular focus on the political economy of redistributive policies in new democracies. Aleman is also interested in democratization, democratic consolidation and social science methodology.  He has received fellowships from the Macarthur Foundation, the Mellon Foundation and the Korea Foundation. He has published in the Industrial Relations Journal, the International Political Science Review, Political Studies, the International Encyclopedia of the Social Sciences (2nd Edition) and the International Journal of Korean Studies.
