Mohamed El-Shibiny

Mohamed El-Shibiny is the former UNESCO Chief Technical Advisor for East Africa, the Philippines, and Qatar and as Regional Representative for the Middle East Gulf States as well as Dean of the Faculty of Education and Islamic Studies at Sultan Qaboos University and advisor to the Minister of Higher Education in the Sultanate of Oman. He is a definitive authority regarding the relationship between the West and the Arab world. He earned his M.A. and Ph.D. at Ohio State University before joining United Nations for over thirty years promoting education and culture exchange for developing countries in Africa, the Far East, and the Middle East. His most recent publications include The Social, Cultural and Philosophical Foundations of Education, in Arabic, and The Threat of Globalization to Arab Islamic Culture, in both Arabic and English versions.
