Oscar Wilde

Had Oscar Wilde not become famous for his plays, especially that perfect English comedy The Importance of Being Earnest, and--at least at the time--infamous for his trials and his imprisonment, he would have become famous for having published two magical, mesmerizing collections of fairy tales for older children, The Happy Prince (1888) and The House of Pomegranates (1891).
