Rita E. E. Urquijo-Ruiz

Rita E. Urquijo-Ruiz is an Associate Professor of Spanish in the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at Trinity University She is a Mexicana/Chicana from Sonora who grew up in Southern California. Her areas of interest are Mexican and Chicana/o literatures and cultures, gender and sexuality studies, and theater and performance studies.  Her work has been published in Nerter (Spain), Chicana/Latina Studies: The Journal of MALCS, Ollantay Theater Magazine, and other journals.  Her first solo-authored book is Wild Tongues: Transnational Mexican Popular Culture (2011).
