“These seventeen mesmerizing tales, each one creepier than the next, will delight vampire and other horror fans.”  —Library Journal

For those who enjoy stories that frighten and tales that create disquieting chills, this anthology presents stories of vampires and other deadly, twisted creatures that may look as ordinary as anyone. These others, as portrayed in these disturbing, eerie tales by some of the finest horror writers in the field today, may not sink fangs into necks, but in a variety of different ways can just as effectively drain one’s essence, suck out one’s life, steal one’s soul. With tales by award-winners Laird Barron, Elizabeth Bear, Kathe Koja, Margaret Lanagan, Bill Pronzini, Barbara Roden, Lisa Tuttle, Kaaron Warren, and others, Blood and Other Cravings will slake the thirst for great horror fiction in any reader.

Praise for Blood and Other Cravings

“Pick up Blood and Other Cravings for the fact that Datlow has been editing books forever and knows how to pick interesting stories. Just don’t do it because you’re looking for the traditional vampire tale…or, God forbid, because you’re a member of Team Edward.”  —Bookgasm

“These stories are the literary equivalent of the gentleman killer who butchers you without splashing so much as a drop of blood on his perfectly tailored suit. They’re brutal and beautiful; thoughtful and nightmare-inducing.”  —Stella Matutina

Blood and Other Cravings edited by Ellen Datlow is an extraordinary tour de force of dark fantasy. All seventeen tales are excellent examples of fine writing—highly recommended reading!"
—Jody Rose Reviews

“Datlow has created another must-have anthology for discerning vampire and horror fans.”
—Publishers Weekly

“This fine compilation provides a penetrating and intelligent look into the dark recesses of the mind; those yearnings and yens that can lead to distraction and destruction.”  —Hellnotes

“Readers tired of the glut of overly familiar vampire fiction could hardly do better than to check out Blood and Other Cravings.”  —The Stars at Noonday
