Alex and Kate Sheppard have found the perfect house; the home they had always dreamed of owning. Nestled deep in the Wiltshire countryside and surrounded by a two-acre walled garden, The Parsonage was to be their own little paradise . . . but nothing stays perfect forever.

Soon after moving in they make an impossibly exciting discovery---one that defies every known law of nature and science. They find a blue rose bush flourishing in their walled garden. But as word of their discovery leaks out, the Sheppard's peaceful existence is shattered and they find themselves plunged into a world of coded journals, genetic experiments, cold-blooded greed, and, ultimately, murder. Threatened from every direction, with no one to trust but themselves and Lawrence Kingston, a gardening expert to whom they have revealed their exciting secret---the only way they can save their lives is to unravel the dark, seductive secret of the Blue Rose.

Praise for The Blue Rose

Praise for The Blue Rose

"The Blue Rose is a well-plotted story that should appeal to gardeners everywhere about what happens when amateurs tinker with the ever-favorite rose species and come up with a killer."
- Ann Ripley, author of Death at the Spring Plant Sale

"Eglin, a member of the American Rose Society, manages skillfully to weave in plenty of horticultural references to this pacey murder mystery. So, as the nights draw in, The Blue Rose could be the next best thing to getting your hands dirty."
- The English Garden

"The Blue Rose is a delightful read. It is certain to find a comfortable place on the shelves of the mystery genre."
- Michael Cady, horticulturist, Jackson & Perkins Roses

- David Austin, David Austin Roses, England

"With his mystery novel, Anthony Eglin has rekindled hopes among rosarians worldwide that such a flower might actually exist."
- Rayford Reddell, rose grower and author of The Rose Bible and Growing Good Roses
