This book was not your normal alphabet book. It integrated Spanish into the story line. This could be a good tool to use if you have some Spanish speaking children in your classroom. It has Spanish words for each letter of the alphabet and dialogue. The dialogue has some English and Spanish in i ...more

Fun book! It could be an example of a different way to create an alphabet book.
What I enjoyed was the use of "spooky" characters (a ghost and a skeleton) in a playful way. In this world, the supernatural and human worlds are very much connected in a lovely way. ...more

About the Author

Written and illustrated by Yuyi Morales

Born and raised in Mexico, YUYI MORALES has been a radio producer and children’s book creator since coming to the United States. Her books have won numerous awards and honors (including the Pura Belpré Award, the Christopher Award, and the James Addams Award). LITTLE NIGHT, a 2008 ALA Notable Children’s Book and the Spanish edition, NOCHECITA, were published by Roaring Brook in Spring 2007. Yuyi Morales lives in Northern California.
