Brenda Cooper, science fiction author, futurist, and tech executive discusses her novels with Glen Hiemstra, founder of Futurist.com. Her current novel series explores the interaction and conflict between biologically enhanced and "natural" humans as they colonize a distant world. The Silver Ship and the Sea won the Endeavor Award for best science fiction or fantasy novel released by a Northwest author in 2007, and her most recent novel, Reading the Wind, is the second book in the series.
BRENDA COOPER is a futurist who works with Glen Hiemstra at Futurist.com. She’s the co-author of the novel Building Harlequin's Moon, which she wrote with Larry Niven. Her solo and collaborative short fiction has appeared in multiple magazines, including Analog, Asimov’s, Strange Horizons, Oceans of the Mind, and The Salal Review. She lives in Kirkland, Washington.
