Palgrave Macmillan Transnational History

Series Editors: Akira Iriye and Rana Mitter

This distinguished series develops scholarship on the transnational connections of societies and peoples in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries; provides a forum in which work on transnational history from different periods, subjects, and regions of the world can be brought together in fruitful connection. It also explores the theoretical and methodological links between transnational and other related approaches such as global history, international history, and comparative history.

Akira Iriye is Professor of History Emeritus at Harvard University.

Rana Mitter is a lecturer in Modern History and Chinese Politics at the University of Oxford.
