LESLIE PEPPER is a writer specializing in health, diet, nutrition and fitness. She has written extensively on parenting issues, entertainment, sex, relationships, and lifestyle, and her work has been published in dozens of national consumer magazines, including Woman’s Day, Harper's Bazaar, Family Circle, Good Housekeeping, Parents and Parenting. She lives on Long Island with her husband and three children.

STEVEN V. JOYAL, MD is the Chief Medical Officer at Life Extension, Inc. He has lectured on the nutritional management of obesity and diabetes at international medical conferences and has published several articles on strategies and treatments for obesity and diabetes in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Joyal earned his medical degree from Dartmouth College/Brown University (joint program) and was board certified in internal medicine in 1997.
