Baskett & Quick

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Hank Baskett joined debut novelist Matthew Quick on September 24 at the Philadelphia Friends Select School to sign copies of The Silver Linings Playbook (Sarah Crichton Books/FSG), in which Baskett appears. Quick wrote the novel as the 2006 season unfolded and very nearly wrote Baskett out of the book until he “went to the Dallas game in Philly and Baskett caught a bomb from McNabb and the Linc went wild.  I was sitting with my father and best friend at the time.  They were celebrating because the Eagles had just scored.  I was celebrating, because the subplot of my novel just got a hell of a lot more interesting.”
