Chosen by the Lion is Linda Gregg's fourth collection of verse, and maybe her most eloquent, bespeaking a deeply personal reconciliation with the loss of love. Gregg is able to take common experience and see it clearly and honestly as well as poetically, to witness everyday life in all its ordinary yet telling complexity.

In Gregg's poems, mundane human experience is explored vis a vis its affinity to the gods, to the universe, to the ways of nature. Hers is a poety firmly grounded in the familiar, the contemporary, the norm—yet it is also rooted in the realm of spiritual transformation.
