About the Author

KATE CLANCHY is a British writer: she was born and grew up in Scotland but now lives in England with her family. She has won Forward and Somerset Maugham Awards for her poetry; the Writer’s Guild Best Book Award for her highly acclaimed memoir, Antigona and Me; and the BBC National Short Story Award. She also reviews for the Guardian, and broadcasts, writes, and adapts for BBC Radio. Meeting the English is her first novel, and was shortlisted for the Costa Prize.
