About the Author
Kay Redfield Jamison, who contributed "The Benefits of Restlessness and Jagged Edges" to NPR's This I Believe program, is a professor of psychiatry at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and an honorary professor of English at the University of St Andrews. She has received multiple awards for her work and is the author of the Pulitzer Prize Finalist for Robert Lowell: Setting the River on Fire; a classic textbook on bipolar disorder, Manic-Depressive Illness; and the nationally bestselling memoir, An Unquiet Mind: A Memoir of Moods and Madness.
