Paul Brandon

About the Author

Paul Brandon was born in the middle of a hop field in darkest Kent, England. The first book he remembers being read to him was The Hobbit, closely followed by The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark. He went on to work in film and television production. The majority of his work was within commercials, but he also worked on documentaries, a few Barbara Walters Specials, pop music videos and the occasional movie.

He met his future wife Julie in an Irish pub in London, and six months later, he decided to pack up and move to Brisbane, Australia to be with her. After a couple of years in Australia, he took a month or so to write Swim the Moon, which was a little idea that came to him while listening to a Celtic fiddle tune during tea on a Sunday evening.

When he's not writing, Brandon can be found playing guitar for Súnas, a Celtic band that can be caught on most weekends playing in some pub or another around the Brisbane area, where Paul and Julie reside.
