About the Author

Paul Winfield was an American television, film, and stage actor, perhaps best known for playing a Louisiana sharecropper during the Great Depression in the landmark film Sounder, for which he received an Academy Award nomination.  He also played Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in the television miniseries King, which earned him an Emmy nomination.  Other television appearances include roles in Touched by an Angel, Crossing Jordan, The Magic School Bus, and Batman Beyond.  Paul's audiobook credits include several Walter Mosley titles, such as Black Betty, Devil in a Blue Dress, Always Outnumbered, Always Outgunned, and Walkin' the Dog.  Paul died in 2004.
