For more than a century, much of the attention given to the Middle East has focused on the Arab-Israeli conflict. The rise of a Palestinian offshoot of Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood, the Islamic Resistance Movement, or Hamas, transformed the nature of the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians. According to Bard, the dispute, in the view of Hamas, is not over a division of Palestine, but rather about Jews ruling over Muslims and the presence of Jews on Islamic land. However, this Islamic-Jewish conflict is not simply confined to the Middle East. Muslim terrorist attacks have been directed at Jews all around the world, from Europe to Asia to Latin America. Radical Muslims in European countries are becoming more brazen, particularly in France, where the Muslims constitute nearly ten percent of the population. In just the last year, there have been several Muslim attacks on Jews throughout France. Death to the Infidels documents the growth of radical Islam in the Middle East and how, from the author's interpretation, it has transformed what had primarily been a political conflict into a one-sided religious war limiting the prospect for peace, particularly in Israel.

In The News

“…Very timely….Bard…has provided a comprehensive history of how the growth of radical Islam's call for Jihad against the Jewish state also pits Islamists against Jews around the world.” —The Jewish Voice

“Bard's nuanced account of the central role radical Islam plays in the Israeli-Arab-Palestinian conflict is essential reading for all who crave peace with security for Israel. He makes it clear that it will not be easy to achieve a total peace but he points the way to a possible pragmatic rapprochement.” —Alan M. Dershowitz, author of Taking the Stand: My Life in the Law

“Mitchell Bard's bracing book deepens our understanding of the situation facing Israel, and thus lays the basis for a realistic path forward for Israel and its friends.” —William Kristol, Editor, The Weekly Standard

“Bard has written the definitive book on the jihad being carried out against Jews worldwide. This is a frightening wakeup call about the future of western civilization, not just the survival of Israel. I must caution you. Its contents will shock you. As radical Islam spreads its violent tentacles, Israel and the Jewish people are the proverbial canary in the coal mine. Failure to act is not an option.” —Steven Emerson, Executive Director, The Investigative Project on Terrorism, Executive Producer of Jihad in America: The Grand Deception

“In Death to the Infidels, Mitchell Bard gets to the heart of the under-discussed but critically important transformation of what we still think of as the ‘Arab-Israel conflict' into the Islamic jihad against the Jewish state. The failure of policymakers to recognize the shift has led to the stubborn maintenance of policies of conflict management that are far less relevant today than they may have been four decades ago. This is an important book, and it comes at a pivotal moment in Middle Eastern history.” —Caroline B. Glick, senior contributing editor to The Jerusalem Post and the author of The Israeli Solution: A One-State Plan for Peace in the Middle East

“Mitchell Bard threads an enormous amount of information into powerful focus, creating a tectonic shift in understanding.” —Edwin Black, New York Times bestselling author of IBM and the Holocaust and The Farhud
