A History of Ancient Egypt

In this two-volume series, archeologist John Romer presents the incredible history of ancient Egypt, debunking the mythology that Egyptologists created in previous centuries. Featuring beautiful photographs of such landmarks as the Great Pyramid, the Sphinx, and various pharaohs’ tombs, Romer’s definitive work unveils the true society behind one of the world’s most magnificent cultures.

“Scholarly, passionate, and exquisitely written…it is remarkable how this book gives us almost nothing of the ancient Egypt we think we know…a stunning, clear-sighted history of ancient Egypt.”—The Sunday Times (UK) (on A History of Ancient Egypt: From the First Farmers to the Great Pyramid)
