About this Series

Doctors are respected for saving lives, for pushing back the darkness, to giving us precious time that might otherwise be taken away by a premature death. It has long been an irritation to Johannes Cabal that this respect is not extended to his own calling as a necromancer. After all, doctors can only delay death. Necromancers can reverse it. But no, just because a few bad apples raise armies of zombies, the public have taken against necromancy and its practitioners with harsh words, torches, pitchforks, and lynchings. It all seems very unfair. Johannes Cabal, a necromancer of some little infamy, contends with angry mobs, demons, the undead, and rival necromancers as occupational hazards. On a bad day, he may have to put up with politics. All he wants is to be left alone to find a perfect cure for death. Is that so much to ask?
