Worldwide Stories

The Worldwide Stories retell familiar tales in new ways, combining different cultural traditions passed down through the centuries and across continents into a fragmented, multicultural narrative. Fearsome Giant retells the story of Jack and the Beanstalk, Glass Slipper, Gold Sandal re-imagines a global Cinderella, and First Light, First Life is a celebration of the various creation stories of the beginning of the world, from Newbery Medal winning author Paul Fleischman and illustrator Julie Paschkis.
