About the Author

GEORGE BOOTH was born and raised in Missouri. His parents were both teachers, and he has two brothers. He started cartooning while working at The Leatherneck as a staff cartoonist. He attended the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts, the Corcoran School of Art in Washington, D.C., the School of Visual Arts in New York City, and Adelphi College on Long Island. George has also received an honorary doctorate of fine arts from Stony Brook State University of New York, and is an honorary member of Colgate University’s class of 1939. He and his wife, Dione, live in Stony Brook, New York, with four cats: Skitter and Puddin (aka the YaYa Sisters), Jasper Jones, and Tank. His daughter works with a large newspaper in New York City. His art career has also led him to advertising campaigns, greeting cards, and animation.
