I was born and grew up in Seoul, South Korea. When I was little, I always played with my twin sister, making paper dolls and inventing stories. I studied art at Seoul National University, and got my M.F.A. at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. I love books, and I like to tell stories with pictures. I created the picture book Last Night for my graduation thesis.Hyewon Yum lives in Brooklyn, New York, with her husband and daughter.
