He practiced law in California and served as director of the Office for Civil Rights at the Department of Health, Education, and Welfare and as assistant attorney general of the Civil Rights Division, Department of Justice, in Washington, D.C. He is the New York Times bestselling author of The Fourth Procedure. Mr. Pottinger lives in the New York City area.
