Gerlese Akerlind


GERLESE AKERLIND has extensive experience in academic development at the Australian National University. As an academic developer, she has always had a focus on the breadth of academic work, of which teaching and learning is but a part, as well as a focus on early career academics. Since 2006 she has been seconded to Oxford University on a part-time basis to work on the development of research education and research supervision. She is also a Research Associate (honourary) of the Oxford Learning Institute. Between 2005-2007 she was co-editor of the journal, Higher Education Research and Development (HERD), and is on the editorial board for Education Research Review.
