Laura Williams

Q & A

If you won the lottery, what would you do with your newfound wealth?
I would buy a croft and spend my days tending to my alpacas, goats, and chickens, and breed rare-breed sheep!

What music, food, drink, toys, etc... do you keep by your side when you're writing?
I just drink gallons of tea!

What's the most sentimentally valuable possession you own?
Not one possession, but I would hate to lose all my photos. I have loads and they bring back so many happy memories. I also really cherish old family photos and am always nagging my grandparents to put names on them.

What do you enjoy doing the most with your free time?
I breed and show pet rats. I currently have 24 pet rats that share my "office," which is a huge portacabin in my garden. I am a member to three different rat clubs across the UK and am a committee member of the Scottish Rat Club, and travel regularly to shows across Scotland.

Besides writing, what other forms of art and creativity do you indulge in?
I am a pet portrait artist (mainly dogs, but also cats and other pets) and have done commissions for people in both America and the UK.
