Margot Norris

Margot Norris is Chancellor's Professor of English and Comparative Literature at the University of California, Irvine, where she teaches modern literature. She is the author of four books on the work of James Joyce: The Decentered Universe of 'Finnegans Wake' (1976); Joyce's Web: The Social Unraveling of Modernism (1992); Suspicious Readings of Joyce's 'Dubliners'  (2003); and a 2004 monograph on the 1967 Joseph Strick film on Joyce's Ulysses. Her other books include Beasts of the Modern Imagination: Darwin, Nietzsche, Kafka, Ernst, and Lawrence (1985) and Writing War in the Twentieth Century (2000).
